The sick season has arrived this year! It’s usually around this time of the year that I notice the kids start picking up bugs and then the bugs circulate through our entire household and everyone is miserable for a week or so. This year the bugs seem worse or maybe my tolerance is just worse!
The arrival of my Tommee Tippee Miomee humidifier was awesome. I had a baby and 3 year old sick with the flu and we were enduring sleepless nights with frequent wake-ups, coughing and general miserable-ness. In our family we try to treat most illnesses as naturally as possible and I’m constantly trying new things when it comes to managing the symptoms of these bugs and treating them.
What’s so good about humidifiers?
Well, for starters – it’s natural. It helps purify the air which naturally helps with congestion and coughs in winter time. It also reduces allergens such as dust particles in the air.
We have the baby in our room so I popped the humidifier in our bedroom and I’m not sure if it was a coincidence but my husband hasn’t snored since it’s arrival! It made me feel better that I was doing something to try and help her sleep better while she endured her very first bug! When my 3 year old was up all night coughing I brought him into our bedroom and kicked hubby out to see if the humidifier might help him also and surprisingly enough, it actually soothed his persistent dry cough.
The Miomee nursery humidifier is whisper quiet but it’s soft noises are actually soothing – I should know it sits on my bedside table right next to my head! It also allows you to control the level and direction of mist flow (e.g not in babies face) and lasts all night as it has a 12 hr capacity. It also turns itself off automatically once it’s empty if you forget to turn it off!
It is also perfectly safe as it’s cool mist and there is no risk of burning from spillage or steam.
So, who wants one?
